Social media can be daunting at times. However, it is not always as complicated as you may think it is. Here are 5 quick social media tips to help with your strategy and content performance!

1. Use your front camera

When taking photos and videos for content, make sure to always use your front camera. Many times I see people post content and can almost always tell whether they used the front-facing or selfie camera. The difference in quality between the two is clear.

To create engaging content, you need to first create quality content, and that starts with good-quality photos and videos. Nowadays, even if you do not have a professional camera, phone cameras have become so advanced and have so many features that you can take extraordinary photos and videos with your phone using this tip.

2. Use reels for better reach

Recently it seems like getting organic reach is practically impossible. With Instagram’s current algorithm, just posting photos as content will not get you the attention and exposure that it used to. Reels can help you reach people who would otherwise may not have found your content. Knowing this, shifting your social media strategy to include more reels can be very beneficial for increasing reach and engagement.

3. Engage with your audience

Getting your audience to engage with your content may seem really difficult, however it is not as difficult as you may think. One way to increase your engagement is to not just wait for your audience to engage with you, but to engage with your audience. Staying in the loop, staying up to date with ongoing conversations, and communicating with your audience allows them to learn more about your brand and makes them more likely to initiate interactions with you.

4. Stay up to date with social media updates

Instagram’s everchanging algorithm and new features are rolling out almost every day and it seems impossible to keep up with them. This is why it’s important to follow resources, newsletter, blogs, and content creators who share and explain these new updates. At Etched In we like to follow Later as they are very quick with keeping up with updates.

5. Stay consistent

We have said this a million times already, but consistency is key when it comes to social media. But we also understand that staying consistent can be difficult, especially as a small business owner. Planning ahead, batching posts, and scheduling content will help you not only stay consistent but also focus your posts around your brand, strategy and goals.
